    Past Week

Wednesday, July 30, 2008, 09:33 PM EST [General]

I went to Warped Tour in Englishtown, NJ on Monday.  It was amazing!  Way better then seeing it in Camden, NJ in previous years.  Story of the Year, Protest the Hero, Relient K, Everytime I Die, The Human Abstract, Pull the Pin, and The Academy Is... were amazing.  A friend crowd surfed it was hilarious, I've never seen so many girls crowd surfing.  Despite being exhausted and sunburnt I bowled league that night and won two matches and kept a third close.

Hopefully this weekend goes just as well...  I'm just going to have fun and learn as much as I can.

    Summer Bowling

Tuesday, June 17, 2008, 04:17 PM EST [General]

I had been having trouble carrying on a house shot recently.  I emailed a few friends/coaches and was able to successfully solve my issues.  Last Thursday I met with a friend to catch up and bowl a bit and she ended up coaching me (she's a coach so I completely trust her).  A welcome occurence.  We changed my arm swing and altered my release a bit.  I'm still getting used to it, but it's working great.  In my tournament shot league on Monday night a few people noticed the change in my game immediately.  Dispite only winning one of my five matches I feel that I bowled well.  Keeping it close and staying in the brackets through a few rounds was a good feeling especially since the league consists of former and current regional guys.

I'm thinking of bowling a local Queens tournament Sunday, but I would be skipping my cousin's twin's Christening.  I'll probably end up bowling, but I feel bad ditching the family.

    Catskill Regional

Sunday, April 20, 2008, 07:23 PM EST [General]

I went to Catskill NY to watch the regional there this weekend.  It was great.  Saw a lot of people I knew and saw some good and bad bowling.  I learned a lot just from observing.  I can't wait to try one.  I don't care how poorly I bowl in the first couple I just want to get out there and experience it.  The PBA league I was in all winter has let given me some experience on the conditions.  I need to trust myself and get out of my head when bowling though.  A good weekend all around!  Time to go practice.

    Random Update

Wednesday, April 9, 2008, 12:45 AM EST [General]

It's been over a year since I posted on here. I rarely stop in, but I should make an effort to check in.

This semester is almost over and I am on the second half of my college career. Woohoo! There is absolutely no hope in getting a team started at my college, athletics just doesn't want to support a team that isn't going to be a women's NCAA team. Sometimes title IX sucks. Especially when my college is predominantly male leaving my only option for college bowling on a men's team, but we don't have one because it's technically a club. Lame.

I'm in a PBAX league. My team mate and I tanked in the first half, but this time around we have a shot at a top finish. I'm looking around for leagues this summer, but it's tough since I will be taking a summer course at NJIT for 6-7 weeks and maybe an art course at CCP since it's free (perks of my dad being a prof there) and having a job somewhere.  I'm looking at Pinsetter's (formerly Maple Bowl), Howell, Laurel, and Cherry Hill Playdrome.  I'll probably do another PBAX, I like the tough lane conditions.

I might even try a regional this summer.  O.o

Hope everyone is doing well (if people even read blogs on here, heh.)

    US Open Pro-Am

Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 12:41 PM EST [General]

I went to the 7pm pro-am last night.  It was awesome.  I'm not an autograph person, so I didn't bother with that, but just getting to meet the bowlers and bowl a few frames with them is really cool.  I had never bowled at Carolier and it's nice, big, the two bays/split level is interesting especially from an architectural stand point.

I bowled with a few people that I had bowled with in leagues a few years ago not knowing they'd be there and that we'd randomly be put on the same pair.  We started with Joe Ciccone, then bowled with Patrick Girard, Patrick Allen, Shawn McKee, Ritchie Wolfe and the PDW.  All of the guys were really nice.  They high-fived and made an effort to talk to each person if only a couple sentences.  All-in-all it was great and I'm still pumped from it.

I want to bowl now...  LOL.
